We are happy to announce that The
Society for Ocean Sciences
has formed a partnership with Morgan
State University
Estuarine Research
Center.
Starting this summer, we will be
collaborating on educational
experiences for students, teachers and the public. There will be an
emphasis on
programming in areas related to under-represented groups in science.
Morgan State
University Estuarine Research Center (ERC) is
located on the Patuxent
River
(part of Chesapeake Bay watershed)
in St. Leonard, MD.
Research conducted
at the state-of-the art facility is designed to increase the
understanding of
coastal ecosystems so that they may be properly managed and protected.
Morgan
State’s
educational mission complements The
Society’s goals, making this an
ideal partnership for future educational endeavors.
