Our Tax Status

The Society for Ocean Sciences was incorporated on January 10th, 2008, in the state of Maryland, USA. 

Effective January 10, 2008, the Internal Revenue Service determined that the Society for Ocean Sciences is exempt from Federal tax under section 501(c)(3). Contributions to our Society are deductible under section 170 of the Code.
